We are actively seeking a Senior Paralegalto join our legal team in Newport Beach, California.

Key responsibilities:

Legal Research: Conduct in-depth research to analyze, interpret and draw conclusions regarding state statutes, regulations, and case law related to life insurance products, contract law, and rescission procedures. Prepare legal memoranda, reports, and correspondence for attorney review.

File Organization & Case Management: Maintain comprehensive and organized files and case matters while adhering to Pacific Life's confidentiality and ethical standards.

Client Communication: Consult with internal clients and third parties to gather information, exchange documents, and provide updates.

Compliance Monitoring: Monitor state and federal laws governing the issuance and servicing of life insurance and annuity products.

How you'll help move us forward:

  • Paralegal certification from an ABA accredited program.

  • 5+ years of paralegal experience, with a preference for candidates with knowledge of life insurance products, insurance contract disputes, or regulatory compliance. Training will be available for candidates with other relevant and transferable skills.

  • Ability to draft clear, concise and well-structured communications that present complex legal concepts in an understandable manner, showing understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.

  • Strong legal research skills using online applications such as Westlaw Edge and Practical Law as well as industry resources.

  • Technical knowledge, including Office 365 applications, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams for email, calendar, and task management with experience in using these tools for efficient communication, document management, and collaboration -- as well as the ability to streamline existing processes and improve efficiency using these tools.

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$98,100.00 - $119,900.00
