Job Summary:

As a Research Services Professional in Debo Sardar's Lab, you will develop research skills in a new and growing lab. You will also gain research exposure to a broad range of concepts in sensory neuroscience - ranging from cutting-edge next generation sequencing to in vivo technologies in mouse models. Our goal is to utilize your existing skills while simultaneously exposing you to new research that benefits both your career goals and our lab's overall productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mouse colony management
  • Breeding, weaning, and maintenance of mouse colonies
  • Harvesting mouse brain tissue
  • Biological sample preparation for microscopy
  • Animal behavioral studies
  • Animal surgeries
  • Next-generation sequencing experiments
  • Scientific communication of research findings

It is not required to be an expert in the above key responsibilities, since Dr. Debo Sardar will train you as needed. However, prior experience with mouse handling is desirable. Our goal together would be to learn new research skills based on your interests. These may include performing surgeries in the mouse brain, mouse behavioral assays, high-resolution microscopy for imaging proteins in the mouse brain, and/or analyzing next-generation sequencing data.
