What You'll Do in This Position

Provide leadership and direction in administering, implementing and resolving performance, compliance, administrative, or semi-technical programs and issues in direct or indirect support of operations. These functions may include, but are not limited to, unusual facility occurrences, self-assessments, external audits and new program implementation.
Monitor and assess operations-related evolutions in facility systems or equipment. Ensure the safe and optimally efficient operation of facility systems and equipment. Perform periodic reviews and assessments to ensure facility systems are operating properly and are being maintained within required limits. Maintain a comprehensive awareness of scheduled or anticipated work evolutions or other related operations support activities that could impact facility operations on shift/area of responsibility. Prepare detailed presentations, recommendations and status reports on various functional and programmatic operations areas for middle to upper division management. Demonstrate positive and adverse trends in operations and operations support performance measures. Identify causal factors and develop recommendations to mitigate adverse trends and to enhance positive trends. Functional and programmatic areas can include, CONOPS (Conduct of Operations), safety, and training among others. Administer and refine various functions in conjunction with or in support of operational program compliance, cost and budget, planning and scheduling, training, special projects or related areas. Interface with other groups within the facility, department and site in support of this effort. Lead ad hoc teams in resolving moderately complex technical or programmatic compliance issues, events and concerns directly or closely associated with operations areas. Provide regular and consistent operations feedback to the designated Supervisor, Operations or the Manager, Shift Operations in various functional and programmatic areas that directly support facility or area operations. Review and ensure the communication and understanding of new and revised technical and operations procedures, bulletins and required reading to operators and other relevant operations support personnel. Conduct training for operations personnel on new systems and equipment and evaluate and critique performance. Establish or assist in establishing training requirements. Function in a variety of contingency coordinator roles in support of operations.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

A comprehensive level of knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the functional area assigned including specific knowledge of a facility or area or location supported, where appropriate.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of all pertinent policies, practices, procedures, DOE orders and regulatory statutes which impact the function or facility supported.
