Job Description

Basic Function & Responsibilities:

Move and deliver supplies and equipment to residence halls and rental properties; repair and maintain custodial equipment and machines; perform general housekeeping to the halls, downtown campus and rental properties on custodial level; provide support to Residential Life custodial staff, Auxiliary Services staff and Residential Life office staff; provide services to residential halls and facilities above the duties of a custodial classification.

Job Functions:

  • Check building equipment; perform necessary maintenance, adjustments and routine repairs of equipment including replacement of broken, worn or defective parts; report need of major repairs to superior for correction; install new and used equipment; perform miscellaneous duties of record keeping, maintenance and clean up of shop area.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties in the maintenance, care and cleaning of buildings; sweep floors with broom and dust mop, empty trash receptacles, clean ash cans, spot wash walls, dust furniture, clean windows, replace light bulbs, sweep and shovel snow from building entrances, clean drinking fountains, wash dry erase boards, rearrange furniture and other related duties.
  • Fabricate simple fixtures or devices for use in the building or assist superiors in fabrication of more complicated apparatus.
  • Wet mop floors, apply wax and buff; vacuum carpets; polish metal and order custodial supplies as needed.
  • Clean and stock restrooms; wet mop floors; clean and disinfect sinks, stools and commodes; clean and polish mirrors; wash walls and restock restrooms with supplies as they require.
  • Use hand and power equipment to cut grass, weeds, underbrush, etc. May clean walks and drives of snow, leaves and do related grounds work.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Shift

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Previous experience in aforementioned duties will be critical to the success of this position. Specific experience in the areas of custodial and maintenance are most beneficial.
  • One year of experience
  • Valid driver license.
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $16.37- $16.83 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
