This position requires an on-campus presence in Harrisburg, PA

Job Summary: Responsible for leading the academic department in collaboration with the executive dean of Liberal Arts, including leadership on accreditation, curriculum development, assessment and revision, faculty effectiveness, and student success. Teach at least one 3-credit course each regular semester in field of expertise.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's Degree in a liberal arts discipline, including visual and performing arts

Postsecondary teaching experience
Demonstrable evidence of leadership in curriculum development or assessment and revision

Licensing Requirements:

Valid Driver's License
PA ACT-15 Compliance

Job Specific Task List:



  • Manage and record information related to program accreditation, including required student experiences, curriculum maintenance, assessment, faculty resources, program audits, and documentation. - (Essential)
  • Collaborate with the executive dean of Liberal Arts to set priorities for department, recruit and hire new faculty, provide input into strategic planning, and develop standards for connecting program resources to curriculum. - (Essential)
  • Collaborate with the executive dean of Liberal Arts regarding budgetary, capital, and personnel requests. - (Essential)
  • Serve as point of contact both internally and externally for the department relative to recruitment, placement services, articulation, transfer issues, curriculum, counseling, library, department meetings, advisory committees, and student recognition. - (Essential)
  • Collaboratively with the executive dean of Liberal Arts, monitor, evaluate, and support existing programs and any necessary revisions. Participate in the development and implementation new courses and programs, including providing academic leadership to develop required curriculum and coursework. - (Essential)
  • Lead program, course, general education, and learning outcome assessments. Coordinate curricular work among faculty to ensure program needs and school and program priorities are met. - (Essential)
  • Collaborate with deans in evaluation of full-time faculty in areas of responsibility and in the evaluation of adjunct and CHS instructors. - (Essential)
  • Respond to student requests for course information, and collaborate with academic deans to resolve student curricular complaints. - (Essential)
  • Coordinate the work of discipline leads. - (Essential)
  • Participate in department, school, and college-wide committees. Conduct service at the school and college-wide level. - (Essential)
  • Ensure, adhere to, and, when needed, support the revision or creation of college and shared governance policies and procedures. - (Essential)
  • Teach at least three credits of coursework each fall and spring semester. - (Essential)
  • Lead or support the submission of internal and external grants. - (Essential)
