APP Cardiology Part Time
POSITION SUMMARY:
In a collaborative with the physician(s), assists in all aspects of inpatient and outpatient care for a select population. Maintains expertise in area of practice and applies advanced clinical skills to care for that select patient population. Incorporates advances in technology and procedures into skill set, remains current in practice of general cardiology. Assists in the evaluation of outcomes and adjustment of practices to ensure optimum delivery of care in a cost-effective manner. Facilitates the coordination and the communication of patient care needs across the health care continuum.
EDUCATION:
Master's Degree in Nursing required, Doctorate (DNP, PhD) preferred or Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program as determined by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing practice, primarily in area of specialty
SPECIAL SKILLS:
Current Registered Professional Nurse and Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse in New Jersey Credentialing Requirements: Credentialed as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of New Jersey with a primary focus of education and training as an Adult, Adult/Gerontology, Family, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, or Current Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) The position requires a collaborative practice agreement with a physician and is contingent upon appointment to the Medical Staff by the Board of Trustees with Core Privileges. Must have 2-5 years of experience in clinical management and care of cardiac patients BLS, ACLS required through the American Heart Association.
Serve on call and/or weekend rotation as required.
