About the Job

The position of Sr. Benefits Specialist will have primary responsibility to support the company employee benefits program and its administration, working alongside the Benefits Manager and Human Resources team to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

In This Role, You Will:




  • Administer and support various employee benefits processes, including new hire enrollments, life event changes, annual open enrollment, wellness program participation, vendor billing and invoicing, HRIS recordkeeping, 401(k) plan administration, leave of absence management, and workers' compensation claims assistance
  • Address employee inquiries regarding benefits and 401(k) plans, including enrollment, status changes, contribution adjustments, and other related matters
  • Act as the primary liaison between the employee benefits program and the Human Resources team, providing guidance on benefit plan details and answering related questions
  • Oversee and manage leave-of-absence requests in conjunction with assigned vendor, ensuring accurate completion of necessary disability paperwork
  • Prepare and compile benefit-related invoice reports for the allocation of multi-state billing charges
  • Assist in the preparation of compliance reports and maintain comprehensive records related to Human Resources regulatory requirements
  • Assist the Manager of Compensation in administering and implementing compensation programs including analyzing salary data, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources preferred
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in benefits administration and leave-of-absence functions for a multi-state corporation
  • Strong knowledge of HR terminology and regulatory matters impacting employment - i.e. Worker's Compensation, EEOC, FMLA, ADA, ERISA
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong team player with an ability to work well with all levels of management, staff, clients, and partners
  • Professional demeanor with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Quick learner with a high degree of initiative
  • Ability to adapt and change in the work environment. Able to deal with frequent change, manage competing demands or deal with unexpected events



Location

This is a hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC.
