Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: The Audio Visual Technician II provides technical support and installs all instructional facilities on campus. Installs and maintains all presentation classrooms, conference rooms, digital signage systems, conferencing systems, and Emergency P.A. systems. Monitors and responds to calls to the help desk. Provides guidance and trains entry-level Audio Visual Technicians. May provide guidance to entry-level Audio Visual Technicians.

Additional Department Summary: Works independently and accomplishes audio video systems work in areas such as audio video systems installation and commissioning. Troubleshoots complex system issues. Controls systems configuration. Implements A/V system design. Plans technical live events. Works in an agile environment. Completes custom multiplex wiring and installation of various hardware components including displays (some large), projectors, speakers, microphones, A/V furniture, etc. in addition to the termination and testing of several types of A/V technology. Navigates equipment including computers, printers, peripherals, and other specialized test equipment. Monitors and responds to calls to the Audio/Visual Solutions help-desk. Serves as project lead during peak operations periods. Works with faculty, staff, and students daily in the performance of duties as representatives of the department.

Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of audio visual technical support experience; OR associates degree or higher and some audio visual technical support experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of customer service and project lead principles. Ability to communicate clearly with end-users.

Preferred Qualifications: CTS and other industry certifications (Extron, Crestron). Proficiency with basic computer software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel as well as an understanding of networking principles.
