Position Purpose |
The Assistant Director of Broadcasting will play a vital role within Dartmouth Athletics that drives the department's mission to excel in all forms of digital media by spearheading innovative broadcasting and multimedia strategies. This position will be responsible for elevating the visibility, engagement, and fan experience for Dartmouth Athletics through broadcasting excellence, cutting-edge multimedia content, and innovative strategies. Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities |
- Bachelor's degree in video production or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in a video production environment focused on sports.
- Proficient with non-linear editing and design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator), Final Cut Pro or other similar video editing program.
- Strong familiarity with a variety of video cameras and supporting equipment, specifically NewTek Tricaster, 3Play and AJT Livebook Graphics.
- Excellent creative and organizational skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work effectively with a broad range of staff members and off-campus partners.
- Ability to identify, analyze and assess technical issues and needs.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure

Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience in a video production environment in college athletics.
- Master's degree in position related field of study.
- Knowledge of position related NCAA, Ivy League, and Dartmouth College rules and regulations.

Description |
Broadcasting Excellence & Brand Development
- Oversee and coordinate the production of live broadcasts for Dartmouth Athletics events, ensuring top-tier quality in terms of video, audio, and commentary. (ESPN, Conference and Ivy League). Ensuring that video quality meets broadcast standards of ESPN and Ivy League.
- Coordinate a team of broadcasters, camera operators, technicians, and support staff, ensuring they are well-trained, motivated, and coordinated to deliver exceptional broadcasts.
- Maintain and enhance technical capabilities related to broadcasting, including camera equipment, video editing software, and streaming platforms, to ensure the highest production standards are met.
- Meet with marketing, communications, and other key staff as needed to ensure broadcasts continue to showcase teams and individuals while growing the Dartmouth Athletics brand in broadcast production.
- Collaborate and assist with implementing communication plans to effectively convey Dartmouth Athletics' brand story, values, and messaging to the target audience.
- Ensure that all multimedia content, digital campaigns, and other communications align with the established brand identity and messaging.

Fan Engagement
- Assist with creating strategies to enhance the overall fan experience, both in-person and through digital channels, ensuring that fans have memorable and enjoyable interactions with Dartmouth Athletics.
- Establish effective communication channels to keep fans informed about upcoming events, news, promotions, and other relevant information related to Dartmouth Athletics.
- Leverage digital platforms, including the official website, mobile apps, and email campaigns, to engage fans through exclusive content, contests, and promotions.
- Create original content for Dartmouth Athletics website, video board and online streams through post-production video editing projects.
