Senior QMS Project Manager

This position willlead a variety of mediumprojectsand teams to apply Quest Management System (QMS) principles and tools to ensure Quest Diagnostics isefficientand effective inthe delivery of its services, solutions, and processeswhile improving customerand employeesatisfaction.This position will also be responsible for coaching others to learn and apply QMS principles and tools to their daily work.

This is an Onsite position at Chantilly, VA.

QMS Silver certification is required (Internals only)

  • Leads projects and working teams to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and closeprojects
    • Leadsprojects
      • Leads projectsthrough issues, roadblocks, andproblems
      • Acts as a change agent to drive teamstowardsuccess
      • Guides team members to perform through issues andconstraints
    • Ownsprojects
      • Owns the timeline, budget, resource constraints, and deliverables/results
      • Shifts between the big picture and the small-but-crucialdetails
      • Is prepared to roll up their sleeves and work through detailedissues
    • Managesprojects
      • Ensures all appropriate tools are completed and used effectively (e.g., charter,Ganttchart, status updates)
    • Communicates
      • Actively communicates with project sponsors andstakeholders
      • Establishes regular points ofcommunication
      • Manages sponsor and stakeholdersexpectations
    • Delivers the expectedresults
      • Performs root cause analysis on project shortfalls and takes corrective action asnecessary
  • Applies project management tools and techniques, as well as other QMS principles andtools, toward a variety oflarge,and likely inter-related,projects
  • Coaches other employees onthe use of various tools, concepts and practices foundational to QMSinorderfor Quest Diagnostics employeesto build self-sufficiency, sustainability andscalability
  • Participates in Communities of Practice
  • Leads QMS trainingclasses
  • Documentsbusiness processes
  • Completes required continuedlearning

Required WorkExperience:

  • Min 2-5 years of Project Management experience

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carryingobjects
  • Frequent walking and/or standing.

  • Demonstrated experience leading projects from initiation to completion(4 to 6years experience)

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree(Required)

LICENSECERTIFICATIONS
Formal training in project management or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, Lean, Theory of Constraints)

QMS Silver certification is required (Internals only)
