Job Summary:



The Family Violence Recognition lab in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking an entry-level Clinical Sciences Professional to support a project focused on making the care of children and families when there is a concern for family violence more effective, safe, and fair. This position will support a retrospective study utilizing a novel natural-language screening tool to improve recognition of child physical abuse. Duties will include data abstraction from medical and child protected services records, project timeline coordination, reporting to sponsors, and other duties as assigned. The position may include opportunities for academic work product development and scholarly authorship. We seek a highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented individual to fill this role.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Electronic health record review
  • Database query
  • Data extraction and collection
  • REDCap database composition and revisions
  • Data Quality assurance
  • Assistance with additional research studies as needed



Work Location:



Hybrid/Remote - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule and as needed for in-person meetings in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field

    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis




Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with electronic health records, especially Epic
  • Medical scribe experience
  • Experience as a research assistant
  • Experience in using computer-based tools (Microsoft suite)


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Knowledge and understanding of federal regulation and Good Clinical Practice
  • Knowledge of research methodology and scientific method
  • Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques
  • Willingness to learn basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion
  • Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology
  • Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $47,743 - $60,729.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
