The Opportunity Cornell registrar representatives across Cornell's colleges share a mission to partner with students, faculty, administrative staff, and alumni serving as custodians of student academic records, coordinators for course enrollment, and management of student records so that any person can find instruction in any study, supporting strategic enrollment goals defined by the institution. Registrar services are carried out through a matrixed organizational system in which staff in colleges, schools, and units regularly collaborate with, and consult, Division of Enrollment offices, particularly the Office of the University Registrar, which serves as a partner and resource for all college/unit staff serving registrar functions. This position plays a vital role in supporting the College of Human Ecology and is a key component of the registrar function. Key Responsibilities include:
The successful Assistant Registrar will embody strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a high level of confidentiality and integrity to manage sensitive student records. Additionally, collaboration, problem-solving, and organizational abilities are essential, along with a supportive and empathetic approach to working with students and staff, adaptability to new systems and technologies, and a demonstrated ability to lead, take initiative, and maintain a customer-service orientation. This is a regular, full-time, exempt (40 hours/week) position that is based in Ithaca, NY. Typical work hours are 8:00AM - 4:30PM Monday through Friday. However, there are occasional evening and weekend requirements to meet department needs. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The hybrid schedule will be determined at the time of hire with a minimum of 3 in-person days per week.
