Berkeley Lab's Engineering Division is hiring a part-time Student Assistant (8-16 hours/week) to support the Advanced Light Source upgrade project (ALS-U). The position offers hands-on experience under the supervision of the ALS-U engineering group, contributing to the ongoing effort to enhance the ALS, a leading facility in x-ray, infrared, and extreme ultraviolet light research. The ALS supports thousands of global scientists in diverse fields, and the ALS-U project will ensure its continued leadership for decades. For more information, visit ALS and ALS-U. What You Will Do: The role will vary based on your skills and interests. Those focused on technical documentation, QA, and manufacturing will work on process development and quality assurance. Students interested in CAD and design will focus on 3D modeling, large assemblies, and engineering drawings. Training in LBNL-specific engineering tools will be provided.
