THE JOB:

The primary responsibility of the Mutuel Clerk is to assist guests with placing wagers on horse racing and sporting events worldwide, following all departmental policies, property practices, and procedures.

STARTING RATE:$17/hour plus tips

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Payment Processing & Verification: Write, verify, and process race and sports wagers in accordance with department policies, ensuring compliance with all applicable gaming regulations.

  • Cash Handling & Bank Reconciliation: Maintain a shift cash bank, accurately accepting payments, making correct change, and reconciling funds per cash-handling procedures.

  • Customer Interaction & Support: Explain betting rules, lines, and odds to guests, and assist with creating and entering player tracking cards.

  • Station Maintenance: Stock cashier stations with necessary supplies, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

  • Issue Escalation & Security: Notify management of guest concerns, escalated issues, or suspicious activities, ensuring adherence to credit policies and the protection of customer rewards.

  • Additional Duties: Perform other job-related duties as requested.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

  • Availability: Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.

  • Race and Sportsbook Knowledge: Preferred candidates possess at least 6 months of experience in a race and sportsbook environment, demonstrating knowledge of wagering rules, odds, and processes.

  • Customer Service Background: Experience in customer service, with a commitment to delivering positive guest interactions and resolving issues effectively.

  • Cash Handling Experience: Preferred candidates have 6+ months of experience handling cash accurately in high-traffic settings.

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy while processing wagers, transactions, and payouts, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

  • Team Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment, ensuring smooth operations during peak hours and special events.
