Job Summary:

Growing company in Sturbridge is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Maintenance Technician to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of our manufacturing equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, perform preventative maintenance, and collaborate with the team to maintain safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities:



  • Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, resolving them promptly with the team.
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and replacements of faulty components, parts, or systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and ensure operational safety.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with manufacturing equipment powered by varied sources.
  • Respond to emergency repair requests and assist in equipment installation.
  • Operate and provide backup support for wastewater processes, including recording readings and making necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper handling of hazardous materials.
  • Document all maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, inventory updates, and equipment performance.
  • Perform periodic inspections of tools and instrument inventory to ensure availability and safety.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.


Required Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of mechanical systems, preferably in manufacturing.
  • General knowledge of mechanical maintenance; prior experience in manufacturing is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze system operations, diagnose issues, and take corrective action.
  • Experience working with PLCs and vacuum systems is strongly preferred.
  • Considerable knowledge of safety standards and precautions related to electrical work.
  • Proficient in interpreting simple to complex blueprints and schematics.
  • Skilled in preventive maintenance, overhauls, modifications, and fabrication.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working on ladders at heights of up to 30 ft.


Preferred Attributes:



  • Hands-on experience with PLC systems.
  • Familiarity with vacuum systems.
