Position Purpose |
The Director of Admissions and Strategic Enrollment is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the student marketing, recruitment, admissions and financial aid processes for the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College (Thayer). Thayer's academic degree programs currently include a Bachelor of Engineering (BE), a partner school dual degree BE program, course-based Master's programs (residential and online) and research-based Masters and PhD programs. This Director role is pivotal in attracting and fostering a diverse and talented student body, and aligning financial resources with Thayer's strategic goals. |

- Master's degree in higher education administration, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in admissions and financial aid, with a strong understanding of graduate education.
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives in a complex academic environment.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in admissions funnel data management and reporting including experience with Slate platform or other similar CRM, Google Sheets/Excel, Google Analytics.
- Knowledge of financial aid regulations and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience working in graduate engineering and/or STEM-related recruitment or admissions.
- Experience working with Faculty deans/leaders on academic program enrollment strategy.

Description |
Admissions Strategy and Leadership
- Partner with Thayer Senior Leadership and Academic Program Directors to identify and explore opportunities to develop new programs and partnerships in effort to strategically grow graduate enrollment.
- Develop and execute innovative marketing, recruitment and admissions strategies and initiatives that attract high-caliber candidates from diverse backgrounds, ensuring alignment with the school's mission and values.
- Work with the Associate Director to execute the entire admissions process, including engaging prospective students through multiple communications channels (advertising, information sessions, workshops and individual counseling), efficient application processing, candidate interviewing and selection, and yield strategies.
- Collaborate with Program Directors, academic advisors and faculty to understand program-specific needs and align admissions strategies accordingly.
- Develop agenda and content, and present to Deans, Program Directors and prospective students at annual strategy sessions and recruitment events.

Description |
Scholarship/Financial Aid Management
- Collaborate with the Dartmouth Financial Aid Office to direct the administration of financial aid programs, including scholarships, grants, and loans.
- Collaborates with CFAO and Program Directors to analyze and adjust Thayer scholarship/financial aid offerings to stay competitive with peers schools and inline with best practices.
- Collaborates with Thayer Advancement team to raise additional funds and to provide information about financial aid, scholarships and fellowships.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations, while advocating for students' financial needs.

- Collaborate with Leadership, faculty, alumni, and external partners to enhance recruitment efforts and broaden the school's reach.
- Collaborate with Tuck, Geisel, Guarini, and Admissions leads on a quarterly basis to share insight and best practices.
- Work closely with undergraduate admissions and others to attract Dartmouth undergraduates to engineering.
- Engage with alumni and stakeholders to support recruitment and financial aid initiatives.
- Work closely with student affairs to ensure a seamless transition for admitted students, fostering retention and success.
