Job Description: Operating Room Manager Surgical Services I Lexington, KY Full-time, First Shift Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department. Description:
- Operating Room Manager (Clinical Coordinator) supports the Director by participating in both clinical and entry level leadership activities to ensure service-oriented, quality, effective, safe continuity of patient care such as unit-based Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QA/PI) initiatives and development of improvement action plan.
- Identifies, coordinates, and collaborates for process improvement opportunities at the care team, care center, and organizational levels.
- Acts as a consultant in the development and implementation of the efficient and interdisciplinary patient's plan of care.
- Supports quality improvement initiatives under the direction of the unit director while assuring consistent delivery in (including direct observation) standards of practice for optimal patient outcomes.
- Demonstrates effective communication with patient, family, Physicians, Other staff, and Director.
- Maintains clinical competencies and can provide direct nursing care to patients as needed.
- Actively participates in nursing research activities within the facility.
- Collaborates with Staff and Management to support compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies and the Joint Commission.
- Supports the Director in preparation and justification of annual operating and capital budget requests through collection of unit-based needs and provision of input. The input will be based on physician/nurse dialogues, plans for new, or revision of existing programs, and departmental polices and organizational goals.
Requirements:
- One year experience. (Operating Room)
- A current license from the Kentucky Board of Nursing as a RN.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
