Balazs Nanoanalysis is a contract analytical laboratory owned by Air Liquide Electronics is world-wide leader in supplying gases, specialty chemicals and services to a wide variety of industries. Balazs Nanoanalysis operates analytical labs around the world serving both internal and external clients. We support clients in a wide array of industries including semiconductor, biotechnology, aerospace/defense industry, solar, energy storage, automotive and many others. Our highly-skilled chemists assist other scientists and engineers from companies in these fields to support a wide array of activities such as quality assurance, contamination studies, R&D and failure analysis.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Balazs is seeking a Laboratory Technician II to split their time and work in two unique laboratories (VPD and Water). The candidate would preferably have prior experience with sample preparation techniques including acid handling, and wish to pursue a career in analytical chemistry with a focus within the semiconductor industry.

This position will require Saturday weekend work; Up to two times a month for up to 2 hours a day.
Working shift will be Monday-Friday 11:00 am- 8:00 pm.

Job Responsibilities

  • Sample receipt, log in and data entry into the laboratory information management system in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Delivery and transportation of samples between the labs as required.

  • Performing sample preparation and routine analysis, including wet chemistry techniques.

  • Prepare reagents to be used for analysis.

  • Prepare standards to be used for analysis.

  • Perform bottle, glassware, plasticware, and silicon wafer cleaning for trace metals, IC, TOC, particles, etc.

  • Perform sample bottle and witness wafer kits for customers.

  • Perform sample packaging for returns.

  • Follow all SOPs and lab safety and quality requirements.

  • Remain current on all training and foster a safe working environment.

  • Understand and follow safe handling procedures for hazardous chemicals.

  • Work collaboratively with team members on analyses as required.

  • Communicate internally with the commercial team, other lab groups, and with customers.

  • Updates the laboratory manager and supervisor on activities in the lab.

  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts within the lab on improved methods and method development.

  • Maintain 6S in the laboratory.

  • Complies with the established Quality System and reports quality deficiencies.

  • Perform sampling at client's facility as assigned and complete all other additional assignments as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma with 3-5 years industrial laboratory experience OR Associate Degree in Chemistry or Similar Science with 2-3 years experience OR BS in Chemistry or Similar Science with 1-2 years experience

  • Ability to work in a team environment with good communication skills (both written and spoken).

  • Work safely at all times and ensure a safety culture and a safe working environment in the laboratory.

  • Administer safe laboratory practices, and keep all related safety trainings up to date.

  • Must be able to provide support to other laboratory areas as needed.

  • Must have good problem solving skills, take initiative and be self-motivated.

  • Must be able to work under pressure and pivot on short notice.

  • Proficient in computer skills such as LIMS, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc.

  • Must be able to lift heavy loads (+50 lbs) with the assistance of others.

The hourly rate range for this position in California is $30.00 to $32.00
