General Summary

The Associate Corporate Counsel will provide legal support on a broad spectrum of contract matters. This lawyer will also support various Campbell's business divisions and functions on both day-to-day commercial matters and longer-term strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a commercially minded, pragmatic business lawyer with solid expertise in handling corporate transactions that can work effectively with numerous clients in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment.

The Associate Corporate Counsel position is based in Campbell's World Headquarters in Camden, New Jersey, with the opportunity to work remotely two days a week. The Associate Corporate Counsel will report to Campbell's Vice President, Senior Counsel, M&A and Commercial Transactions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support and counsel on a wide variety of commercial agreements, including global procurement arrangements, customer contracts, manufacturing agreements and real estate transactions.
  • Support execution of Campbell's mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, partnerships and other corporate transactions, from initial planning and due diligence, through to closing and post-closing matters.
  • Assist various business teams in day-to-day commercial matters, such as the negotiation of vendor relationships and confidentiality agreements.
  • Conduct regular compliance training related to legal risks, ethics and regulatory issues.
  • Provide counsel on additional matters as needed and directed by management.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school.
  • A member in good standing of any state bar (if not already admitted in New Jersey, the successful candidate will need to obtain a New Jersey in-house bar admission).
  • At least four years of relevant experience, including experience with mergers and acquisitions and other portfolio transactions.
  • Demonstrated team player with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to interact effectively and efficiently with business partners and to operate with
  • limited daily supervision.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$159,100-$228,700

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
