Position Overview

The Sr Master Data Specialist is responsible for entering and modifyingdatain our company's Master Data Management system (Veeva Network). They will take on customer-facing responsibilities and leverage their MDM system understanding when in discussion with business groups and key stakeholders on a variety of initiatives. They will provide quality control over the data for all business units, including data change requests, health system relationship mapping and integration services between our lab data and commercial data ensuring a high level of confidence within our reporting.

This is a hybrid position located in Madison, WI.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in delegation of workload across the MDS team.
  • Provide input to leadership on initiative prioritization.
  • Train and improve team member proficiencies.
  • Provide Quality Control checks on MDS team production.
  • Lead MDS projects related to mergers, acquisitions, and other ad hoc initiatives when applicable.
  • Maintain customer master data quality and integrity.
  • Suggest improvements to overall data stewardship process and offer recommendations for automation.
  • Perform and implement match, merge, and survivorship rules.
  • Enforce data governance rules as required in the regular course of work.
  • Proactively resolve customer master data issues when encountered.
  • Identify and escalate potential concerns related to customer master data and related business processes.
  • Resolve data quality issues through exception reports and quality audits.
  • Identify business needs, data usage requirements, and validation metrics in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Uses existing analytical tools, user research and testing to inform decisions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external data providers.
  • Assist employees, vendors, or other customers by answering questions related to customer data processes, procedures and services.
  • Complete work in a timely and accurate manner while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ad-hoc analysis on data quality.
  • Work closely with other team members to create a unified effort and deliver highest business value.
  • Interface with business analysts and project managers to document business specifications in a highly collaborative project environment.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders (marketing, IT, laboratory, sales management) to establish and maintain data stewardship processes and principles.
  • Participate in business initiatives as a subject matter expert when required.
  • Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
  • Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.
  • Ability to work designated schedule.
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to travel 5% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field; or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in data management, sales or sales/operations support.
  • Basic computer skills to include Internet navigation, Email usage, and word processing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Excel formulas and pivot tables.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare industry experience, in the field of marketing, sales, service or operations.
  • Familiarity with Veeva and Tableau.
  • Adaptable, open to change and able to work in ambiguous situations and respond to new information or unexpected circumstances.

Salary Range:

$67,000.00 - $109,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
