Student Involvement

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Student Success, the director provides strategic leadership to the programmatic units within student involvement, fraternity and sorority life. The director leads student-collaborative interactions through advisement and advocacy-related initiatives with campus governing councils and provides leadership, support and risk education consultation to 150+ student organizations and acts as the primary liaison to the Chancellor's Greek Alumni Advisory Council.

The successful candidate in this full-time position will engage their skills in relationship development, innovative program design, and assessment to continue to build upon a university culture in which students drive the activity and deeply engage in the strategic direction. Opportunities to support the evolution of campus traditions such as St. Pat's will ensure all students have connections to campus which extend throughout their engagement as alumni. The position will also engage with campus partners to enhance or expand programs which contribute to retention and success, including building upon a student-driven aspiration to mitigate hazing and risky behaviors across their experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and facilitate student engagement programs, opportunities and resources that promote student recruitment, retention, achievement, and graduation rates
  • Engage, support and collaborate with students, faculty, and staff to enhance student engagement on campus
  • Oversee fraternity and sorority life, keeping abreast of legal and organizational policies, procedures, governing covenants, by-laws, and constitution
  • Maintain a positive fraternity and sorority community culture that aligns with the campus culture and mission
  • Advise the Student Council
  • Develop and support student services for commuting students, off-campus living support, and transitional programs
  • Serve as a point of contact for student and alumni advisory councils
  • Create and advise student development / leadership initiatives
Minimum Qualifications

A master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 7 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience with programs engaging fraternity and sorority life
  • Professional experience with retention and enrollment initiatives which engage parents, students, and alumni
  • Professional experience engaging with student and alumni advisory councils
  • Experience with business operations related to student organizations and events
  • Experience with student funding boards, contract management and fiscal processes
  • Experience working collaboratively across various internal and external teams
  • Experience creating and advising student development initiatives
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $80,000 to $95,069 annually.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
